Prayer for the Dying

Eternal Father I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and the sins of the whole world.  (Saint Faustina Kowalska, Diary: Divine Mercy in My Soul, n. 476).

O Most merciful Jesus, lover and preserver of souls, I pray You by the agony of Your most Sacred Heart, and by the sorrows of Your Immaculate Mother, wash in Your Blood those souls in the whole world who are now in their agony and are to die this day.  Amen.

Heart of Jesus, hope of those who die in You, have mercy on them.

Blessed Virgin Mary, Gate of Heaven, pray for them.

Saint Michael the Archangel, pray for them.

Saint Joseph, Patron of the Dying, pray for them.

Saint Gertrude, Herald of Divine Love, pray for them.

Saint Faustina, imploring God’s mercy for the whole world, pray for them.

Prayer for the Souls in Purgatory

O God, Creator and Redeemer of all, to Whom it belongs always to have mercy and to spare, we humbly commend to You the souls of the faithful departed, that, through the infinite merits of Your Divine Son, the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Michael the Archangel and all Your saints, You release them from Purgatory and permit them to be received by Your holy angels and conducted into the eternal bliss of Paradise.

Requiem aeternamdonaeis, Domine, et lux perpetualuceateis.  Requiescant in pace.  Amen.

Prayer of Saint Gertrude for Poor Souls in Purgatory

Eternal Father, I offer You the Most Precious Blood of the Your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, those in my own home and within my family.  Amen.
